Here's the flier we made for Luna's Queer Talks event! ^.^

This Thursday we had our 2nd "Queer Talks," an artist spotlight series where we invite cool queer + multidisciplinary artists to make a short presentation on the general theme: identity. The goal with these events is to dissect our current understanding of what it means to be a queer person and what it means to be an artist; we hope to highlight how our identities can be fluid and open to change. As queer business owners and multidisciplinary artists ourselves, we are constantly redefining our own identities... so we get it! The Queer Talks will hopefully allow us to nurture our fellow queer artists, act as a platform to celebrate them, and inspire our community to collaborate and seize the opportunity to shine.

This week, our guest host was Brooklyn's favorite diva: Luna Martin (they/them). We met them at a cafe nearly a year ago, and have been admiring their style, attitude, and aura ever since. We were thrilled to show them around and to host them and their guests. Twas' an immaculate vibe indeed -- a fantastic Fat Dino PRIDE moment for all involved, and the room was full of cuties ready to learn about "The Art of Diva," and support their friend.

They made an impeccably curated presentation titled, "The Art of Being a Diva: Choosing Yourself as a Lifestyle and Practice." and omg it was lit. They started off by handing out these adorable, tiny star-shaped sticky notes with gel pens (can you say, "nostalgia?"), and playing a clip of Beyonce (DUH) -- then asked the audience to write an acronym for D.I.V.A. Their presentation was wholesome, cute, and covered all the bases.

We loved the way they incorporated the audience into their presentation! Giggles and hugs were shared, compliments soared about the room, and hands were raised both in praise and to ask questions. Here's what we learned: 1) a Diva moves with integrity, 2) they uplift their community, 3) a Diva expresses themself fearlessly, 4) and lastly, a Diva lives with PASSION!

They also vended the BEST brown butter and chocolate chip cookies we've ever had the privilege to put in our mouths.

Follow them on instagram! @nothatluna (personal/artist) and @djochef (cooking/baking).

We are going to post their full presentation underneath this post. Stay tuned, and sign up for our email list if you wanna hear more!
